General Triiodothyronine ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Triiodothyronine in serum, plasma or other biological fluids [S1]. The kit employs the competitive immunoassay technique using a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with Triiodothyronine antigen. Triiodothyronine in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Triiodothyronine Antibody; the more analyte present, the less antibody binds to the plate. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added and TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction. The resulting colour, inversely proportional to Triiodothyronine concentration, is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and quantified against a standard curve [S1].

With universal reactivity, the assay has a sensitivity of <0.047 ng/ml and a range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 2h 30m [S1]. Recovery data for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across serial dilutions are supplied with the manufacturer documentation [S1].
