General Prostaglandin E1 ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Prostaglandin E1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) in a competitive enzyme immunoassay format, in which Prostaglandin E1 in samples or standards competes with immobilised antigen for binding to a biotinylated anti-Prostaglandin E1 antibody. Detection uses an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader; yellow colour intensity is inversely proportional to Prostaglandin E1 concentration.

The kit is reported as universally reactive, with a product range of 62.5-4000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <15.6 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 2h 30m. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Average recovery from spiked samples (n=5) is 91% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 84% in heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated across serial two-fold dilutions in the same matrices.
