General Oxytocin ELISA Kit

This competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Oxytocin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The microtiter plate is pre-coated with Oxytocin antigen; during incubation, Oxytocin present in samples or standards competes with the immobilized antigen for binding to a Biotinylated Anti-Oxytocin Antibody. Detection is performed using an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a colour change from blue to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution, with the intensity of yellow measured at 450 nm and inversely proportional to the Oxytocin concentration in each sample or standard.

Sensitivity is reported as <5.8 pg/ml across an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 2h 30m run on a colorimetric microplate reader. Spiked recovery in serum ranges from 80% to 102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma from 81% to 99% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma from 80% to 89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma sample matrices.

Kit components include the pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, all of which should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol and not used past the indicated expiration date.
