General Melatonin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) is intended for the quantitative in vitro determination of Melatonin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format read colorimetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader, employing a biotinylated anti-Melatonin antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate. Reported sensitivity is <6.5 pg/ml, the assay range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 2 h 30 min. Reactivity is described as general/universal.

Reported neat-sample recoveries average 91% for serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–99%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity is documented at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components are supplied for storage at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
