General Leukotriene B4 ELISA Kit

A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (competitive ELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Leukotriene B4 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate format and the assay is read colorimetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with the bound HRP activity visualised using a TMB substrate that turns yellow after addition of an acidic stop solution. Signal intensity is inversely proportional to the amount of Leukotriene B4 present in each sample or standard.

The manufacturer reports an assay range of 0.625–40 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.28 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 2h 30m. In validation studies, average recovery rates (n=5) were 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Dilution linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5 per matrix), with recovery percentage ranges reported for each dilution. Reactivity is described as universal, and kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed.
