General Hyaluronic Acid ELISA Kit

A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Hyaluronic Acid in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate platform with colorimetric detection at 450 nm on a microplate reader, and follows the competitive enzyme immunoassay principle in which Hyaluronic Acid in samples or standards competes with the fixed, immobilized antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Hyaluronic Acid Antibody.

After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added and the enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a coloured product whose intensity is inversely proportional to the Hyaluronic Acid concentration. The assay runs in approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, with a stated sensitivity of <2.17 ng/ml and an assay range of 6.25-400 ng/ml. Reported validation (n=5) gives recoveries of 80%-102% (average 91%) in serum, 81%-99% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma and 80%-89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma, with linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions ranging from 74% to 108% across the three sample types. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
