General Estriol ELISA Kit

Designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Estriol, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with Estriol antigen together with a Biotinylated Anti-Estriol Antibody. During incubation, Estriol in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for antibody binding sites; after washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are added, producing a coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with colour intensity inversely proportional to Estriol concentration.

The kit reports a measuring range of 1.56-100 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.52 ng/ml. Total assay time is 2h 30m. Reported recovery values across sample matrices (n=5) average 91% for serum (range 80% - 102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81% - 99%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80% - 89%). Dilution linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
