General Dopamine ELISA Kit

This competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of dopamine in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with dopamine antigen. During the incubation, dopamine present in samples or standards competes with the fixed amount of immobilised dopamine for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-dopamine antibody; the more dopamine in the sample, the less antibody binds to the plate. After washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added and TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and is inversely proportional to the amount of dopamine in each sample or standard.

The reported sensitivity is <7.3 pg/ml with an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml. The total assay time is 2 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
