The assay employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique on a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with CORT antigen; a Biotinylated Anti-CORT Antibody competes with sample or standard CORT for binding sites, and HRP-Avidin conjugate with TMB substrate produces a colourmetric signal that is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.
