General Beta Hydroxybutyric Acid ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA (cELISA) kit from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of beta Hydroxybutyric Acid (OHB) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The 96-well pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) uses a biotinylated anti-OHB antibody with an HRP-avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate producing a yellow colour inversely proportional to OHB concentration, read at 450 nm. Reported sensitivity is 1.33 ng/ml with a measuring range of 4.68–300 ng/ml; total assay time is 2 hours 30 minutes on a colourimetric microplate reader.

Matrix recovery in spiked samples (n = 5) was 80–102% in serum (average 91%), 81–100% in EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80–89% in heparin plasma (average 84%). Dilution linearity at 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions was 87–107% for serum, 84–108% for EDTA plasma, and 82–105% for heparin plasma.

The kit includes the pre-coated 96-well microplate (stored at –20 °C), lyophilised standard (2 vials, –20 °C), Detection Solutions A (70 µL, –20 °C) and B (120 µL, –20 °C), 30X Wash Buffer (20 mL, +4 °C), Sample Dilution Buffer (45 mL, –20 °C), TMB Substrate (9 mL, +4 °C), Stop Solution (6 mL, +4 °C), and 5 adhesive plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4 °C or –20 °C as instructed and not used past the stated expiration date.
