General 5-Hydroxyindoleacetic Acid ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this 5-Hydroxyindoleacetic Acid ELISA Kit is a competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of 5-Hydroxyindoleacetic Acid in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay offers universal reactivity.

The kit is built around a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and produces results in 2h 30m. It provides an assay range of 6.25-400 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 2.93 ng/ml. Quantification is achieved by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

During the competitive immunoassay, analyte in samples or standards competes with antigen immobilised on the plate for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-5-Hydroxyindoleacetic Acid Antibody. An HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate produce a coloured product whose intensity is inversely proportional to analyte concentration. Reported recoveries are 80-102% in serum, 81-101% in EDTA plasma, and 80-89% in heparin plasma.
