From Antibodies.com, this ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative determination of Tissue Inhibitors Of Metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP3) in equine (horse) samples. It uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format with colorimetric detection on a pre-coated 96-well microplate, read at 450 nm using a microplate reader.

The kit accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance includes a measuring range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.147 ng/ml. Recovery values are reported at an average of 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%), with n=5 for each matrix.

The assay is completed in approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
