Equine Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of equine Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses an antibody specific for MMP13 that is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MMP13 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the reaction; the resulting yellow product is proportional to the amount of MMP13 captured in each well, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The kit has a sensitivity of 6.9 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml. Reported average recovery values are 91% in serum (range 83-100%, n=5), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 90-103%, n=5) and 95% in heparin plasma (range 89-102%, n=5). Dilution linearity tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 yields recoveries of 73-110% across serum and plasma sample types. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit is suitable for use with serum, plasma and tissue homogenates.
