Equine Leptin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Leptin in horse serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using a pre-coated microplate and a biotinylated anti-Leptin antibody, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. Leptin concentration is calculated by referring absorbance values to a standard curve.

The measuring range is 0.625–40 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.245 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery has been validated in serum (average 91%, n=5, range 80–102%), EDTA plasma (average 90%, range 81–100%) and heparin plasma (average 84%, range 80–89%). Dilution linearity has been tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in the same sample types. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product must not be used past its expiration date.
