Equine Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this assay is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of horse Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for IL-6 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate; samples and standards are added, the captured IL-6 is bound by a Biotinylated Anti-IL-6 Antibody, and HRP-Avidin conjugate plus TMB substrate produce a yellow colour read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with concentration calculated against the standard curve [S1].

The assay has a stated product range of 78.1–5000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 28 pg/ml, with an assay time of 4h 30m on a pre-coated microplate platform of 12 x 8 well strips [S1]. Reactivity is horse/equine [C0][S1]. Reported spike-and-recovery averages in undiluted samples (n=5) are: serum 91% (range 80%–102%), EDTA plasma 90% (range 81%–100%), and heparin plasma 84% (range 80%–89%) [S1]. Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (n=5) is reported as 87%–107% for serum, 79%–108% for EDTA plasma, and 82%–105% for heparin plasma [S1].
