Equine Interleukin 18 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of horse Interleukin 18 (IL-18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and follows a standard sandwich immunoassay workflow using a biotinylated anti-IL-18 detection antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The measuring range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <6.4 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard (2 vials), Detection Solution A (120 µl), Detection Solution B (120 µl), 30X Wash Buffer (20 ml), Sample Dilution Buffer (45 ml), TMB Substrate (9 ml), Stop Solution (6 ml) and plate sealers (5 adhesive strips). Storage conditions are component-dependent: the plate, standard and detection solutions are kept at -20 °C, while the wash buffer, substrate and stop solution are stored at +4 °C.

Reported spike-and-recovery performance shows average values of 91% for serum (range 83–100%, n=5), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 90–103%, n=5) and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89–102%, n=5). Dilution linearity data across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions yields recoveries broadly within 73–110% for all three sample types. Components should not be used past the stated expiration date.
