Equine Interleukin 1 Beta ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay supplied by Antibodies.com, intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of horse Interleukin 1 Beta (IL-1 beta) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader and uses a pre-coated microplate format. The standard curve spans 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 5.9 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

The kit employs a sandwich immunoassay format. An antibody specific for IL-1 beta is pre-coated onto the plate wells; standards and samples are added and IL-1 beta is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-1 beta Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of stop solution; the yellow intensity, read at 450 nm, is proportional to the amount of IL-1 beta captured and is quantified against the standard curve.

Validated recovery (n=5) averages are 91% for serum (range 83%-100%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 90%-103%) and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89%-102%). Dilution linearity has been characterised at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection reagents, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.
