Equine Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) enables the in vitro quantitative determination of horse IL-1 alpha in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate (12 x 8 well strips), with detection at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

Standards and samples are pipetted into the coated wells, where IL-1 alpha is captured by the immobilised antibody. Bound analyte is then detected with a Biotinylated Anti-IL-1 alpha Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that turns yellow after addition of the stop solution. Absorbance is proportional to the amount of IL-1 alpha captured. The assay covers a range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 27 pg/ml, and the total run time is 4h 30m.

Reported spike-and-recovery values (n=5) average 91% for serum (range 83-100%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 90-103%) and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89-102%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and must not be used past the kit's expiration date.
