Equine Growth Hormone ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com ELISA kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay (cELISA) for the quantitative determination of Growth Hormone in horse serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate where Growth Hormone present in samples or standards competes with the fixed amount of immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Growth Hormone antibody. After incubation and washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate; the resulting colour intensity, inversely proportional to the amount of Growth Hormone, is read at 450 nm on a colourimetric microplate reader.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/ml. The complete assay takes 2h 30m.

Recovery in serum (n=5) ranges from 80% to 102% (average 91%); EDTA plasma (n=5) shows 81%–99% (average 90%); heparin plasma (n=5) shows 80%–89% (average 84%). Linear dilution testing at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 gave serum (n=5) values of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% respectively, with comparable results in EDTA and heparin plasma. Storage is at +4°C or -20°C as instructed; do not use past the expiration date.
