Chicken Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of chicken Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF beta 1) in serum, platelet-poor plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The kit reacts specifically with chicken TGF beta 1 and uses a colourimetric, microplate-reader based detection format.

The assay employs a sandwich immunoassay format run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where TGF beta 1 is captured by an immobilised specific antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-TGF beta 1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of TGF beta 1 is calculated from the standard curve. Reported recovery ranges are 83-99% for serum (n=5, average 91%), 80-99% for EDTA plasma (n=5, average 89%), and 82-99% for heparin plasma (n=5, average 90%).

The stated measuring range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 6.2 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
