Chicken Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of chicken Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for MMP13 that has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and any MMP13 present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MMP13 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to the amount of MMP13 captured. The concentration of MMP13 is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Reported specifications include an assay range of 1.56–100 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.63 ng/ml, an assay time of 4h 30m, and detection on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) read with a colorimetric microplate reader. Average recovery values reported by the manufacturer are 91% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma, and 95% in heparin plasma, with dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 sample dilutions also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
