Chicken Interferon Beta ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of chicken Interferon beta in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The kit uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique with an antibody specific for Interferon beta pre-coated onto the plate. Standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Interferon beta Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow on addition of stop solution; the density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Interferon beta captured. The O.D. absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration calculated from the standard curve.

The standard curve covers 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 5.7 pg/ml. The assay takes 4h 30m and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit not used past its expiration date. Reported recovery values are: serum (n=5) 80%-102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-100%, average 90%; heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89%, average 84%. Linearity has been assessed across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
