Chicken Interferon Alpha ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of chicken Interferon alpha 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format in which an immobilised capture antibody binds Interferon alpha 1 from standards and samples; a biotinylated anti-Interferon alpha 1 detection antibody and HRP-avidin are then added, and TMB substrate is used to generate a colourmetric signal that is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The kit covers a standard range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <28 pg/ml and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery performance has been demonstrated, with serum samples (n=5) showing 80-102% recovery (average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5) showing 81-100% (average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5) showing 80-89% (average 84%). Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The assay is reactive with chicken samples and is intended for quantitative measurement using a colourmetric microplate reader.

Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated on the kit labels, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
