Chicken Ghrelin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of Ghrelin in chicken serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with Ghrelin antigen, in which Ghrelin present in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding to a Biotinylated Anti-Ghrelin Antibody. Detection is performed with an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm; the resulting signal is inversely proportional to the Ghrelin concentration in the sample.

The reported product range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.061 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 2 hours 30 minutes. Recovery values are provided for serum (range 80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (81-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (80-89%, average 84%), together with linearity data across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for each sample type. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
