Chicken Fatty Acid Synthase ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com supplies a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of chicken Fatty Acid Synthase in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microtiter plate onto which an antibody specific for Fatty Acid Synthase has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the target protein is captured by the immobilised antibody.

After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Fatty Acid Synthase Antibody binds the captured analyte, and an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. Following further incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is applied; catalysis by HRP produces a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, and the concentration of Fatty Acid Synthase is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

According to the manufacturer, the assay range is 6.25–400 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 2.88 pg/ml. Reported recovery values average 91% in serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5). The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes and a colourimetric microplate reader is required. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and not used past the indicated expiration date.
