Canine Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine IL-6 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids [C0, S1]. The 96-well microtiter plate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-6; bound analyte is detected using a biotinylated anti-IL-6 antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader [S1]. The standard product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 5.5 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 h 30 min on a pre-coated microplate (12 × 8 well strip) platform [S1].

Spiking recovery across five samples per matrix gave averages of 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (81%–99%) and 84% for heparin plasma (80%–89%) [S1]. Linearity of dilution was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% respectively, EDTA plasma recoveries of 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108%, and heparin plasma recoveries of 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% [S1].
