Canine Interleukin 3 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine IL-3 in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-3. Standards and samples are added to the wells and IL-3 present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-3 antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of IL-3 captured, and absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, with IL-3 concentration calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The stated assay range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml and sensitivity is <6.5 pg/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate comprising 12 x 8 well strips, and total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported recovery averages in spiked samples were 91% for serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81-99%, n=5), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 is also reported for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma.
