Canine Interleukin 18 ELISA Kit

Supplied by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Interleukin 18 (IL-18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The Canine IL-18 ELISA Kit uses a 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-18, into which standards and test samples are added. Captured IL-18 is then bound by a Biotinylated Anti-IL-18 Antibody, followed by incubation with HRP-Avidin conjugate and visualisation with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that turns yellow after addition of the acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay has a stated product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 5.9 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported spike-and-recovery values are 80-102% (average 91%) in serum, 81-100% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma and 80-89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma. Linearity upon dilution has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma sample matrices. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
