Canine Growth Hormone ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Growth Hormone in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for Growth Hormone that has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate.

Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Growth Hormone present in each sample is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Growth Hormone Antibody is added, which binds the captured Growth Hormone. An HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, and TMB substrate solution is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of Growth Hormone is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The assay has a sensitivity of <0.054 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. It is read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Average recovery values were: Serum (n=5) range 82%–102%, average 92%; EDTA Plasma (n=5) range 90%–100%, average 95%; Heparin Plasma (n=5) range 88%–100%, average 94%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
