Canine C3 ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com assay is a 4-hour sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Complement C3 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. It is specific for Complement C3 with no reported cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants.

The quantitative colorimetric assay is read on a microplate reader at 450 nm. The product range is 15.625–1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL. A pre-coated microplate is supplied; standards and samples are added, unbound material is washed away, and a biotinylated detection antibody binds the captured Complement C3 to form a sandwich complex. HRP-Streptavidin conjugate and TMB substrate are then added; the resulting colour intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of Complement C3 captured in each well.

Serum and plasma samples should be diluted at least 1:2 with Sample Dilution Buffer prior to testing, with validated dilution ranges for healthy serum and healthy plasma of 1:5000000–1:10000000. Reported recovery data (n=10) gave averages of 96% for serum (range 86–104%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 94–100%) and 96% for heparin plasma (range 85–105%), with linearity assessed at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The kit is shipped at +4°C and components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol manual; freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
