From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4) in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate and a biotinylated anti-BMP4 detection antibody in combination with an HRP-avidin conjugate. Captured BMP4 is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a colour change that is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader; the absorbance is proportional to the amount of BMP4 present in each well.
Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of <13.7 pg/ml and an assay range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Mean recovery values (n=5) are 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity is reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples (n=5).
Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the stated expiration date.
