A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Angiotensin 1-7. The kit shows reactivity with canine samples and is intended for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.
The assay employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Angiotensin 1-7 present in samples or standards competes with immobilised antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Angiotensin 1-7 Antibody. Detection uses an HRP-Avidin conjugate with TMB substrate, producing a yellow colour whose intensity is inversely proportional to the Angiotensin 1-7 concentration, measured at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 2h 30m.
Performance characteristics include a standard range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <5.33 pg/ml. Reported spike recoveries (n=5) include 83-100% (average 91%) for serum, 90-103% (average 96%) for EDTA plasma, and 89-102% (average 95%) for heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
