Canine Albumin ELISA Kit

This competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of canine Albumin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit is run on a pre-coated microplate with colorimetric detection, read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

During the assay, Albumin present in samples or standards competes with a fixed amount of immobilized Albumin antigen on the plate for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Albumin Antibody. After incubation and washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate are used to generate a colour reaction whose intensity is inversely proportional to Albumin concentration; the value is calculated against a standard curve. The stated product range is 1.56–100 µg/ml with sensitivity of <0.49 µg/ml, and the total assay time is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Reported recovery values (n=5) are 80–102% for serum (average 91%), 81–99% for EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80–89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol.
