Bovine Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide ELISA Kit

Manufactured under the Antibodies.com brand, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate in the 12 x 8 well strip format and employs a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique in which VIP present in samples or standards competes with the fixed amount of immobilized VIP for binding sites on the Biotinylated Anti-VIP Antibody. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added, followed by a TMB substrate solution that produces a blue colour changing to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the density of yellow is inversely proportional to VIP concentration. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. The stated product range is 7.81-500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <3.8 pg/ml, and total assay time is approximately 2h 30m.

Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date. Reported spike-and-recovery averages are 91% for serum (range 80-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81-99%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%); linearity data across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions are also provided for the same sample types.
