Bovine Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) enables the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF beta 1) in serum, platelet-poor plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the plate, the captured analyte is detected with a biotinylated anti-TGF beta 1 antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and the reaction is visualised with a TMB substrate that turns yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and the concentration of TGF beta 1 is calculated against the standard curve.

The product range covered by the standard curve is 31.2-2000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 10.7 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours and 30 minutes, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date. Reported recovery values were: serum (n=5) average 91% (range 80-102%), EDTA plasma (n=5) average 90% (range 81-100%), and heparin plasma (n=5) average 84% (range 80-89%).
