Bovine Prolactin ELISA Kit

For the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Prolactin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids, this Antibodies.com sandwich ELISA employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Prolactin is captured by the immobilised antibody. Captured Prolactin is then bound by a biotinylated anti-Prolactin antibody, followed by incubation with HRP-Avidin conjugate. The TMB substrate reaction produces a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader is proportional to the amount of Prolactin present in the sample.

The kit reports a sensitivity of <0.066 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported recovery is 80%–102% (average 91%, n=5) for serum, 81%–99% (average 90%, n=5) for EDTA plasma and 80%–89% (average 84%, n=5) for heparin plasma. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
