Quantitative detection of Pigment Epithelium-Derived Factor (PEDF) in bovine biological samples is the primary use of this Antibodies.com ELISA kit, supplied in a 48-test half-plate format with all reagents needed to run the assay. PEDF is a secreted 50 kDa glycoprotein belonging to the serpin superfamily, recognized for its potent anti-angiogenic and neurotrophic activities and frequently monitored in ophthalmology, metabolic, and reproductive research using cattle and ruminant models.

The pre-coated strip plate is provided in 48-well configuration and paired with biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant PEDF standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, TMB substrate solution, and stop reagent. The recommended sample volume is 100 µL per well, and the standard curve covers concentrations down to low ng/mL levels for quantitative interpolation of unknown samples against bovine standards.

Researchers apply this kit to investigate PEDF expression in bovine retinal tissue, corpus luteum regression, adipose biology, and angiogenic regulation in cattle. Components are shipped on cold packs and should be stored refrigerated upon arrival until first use; reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and frozen at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The kit is for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
