Bovine Mucin 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine MUC1 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and uses a biotinylated anti-MUC1 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader, and the MUC1 concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay has a measuring range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.098 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

In spike-and-recovery testing across five replicates, the kit demonstrated average recoveries of 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 yielded recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% in serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% in EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% in heparin plasma.
