Bovine Matrix Metalloproteinase 3 ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com Bovine MMP3 ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a microplate pre-coated with a capture antibody specific for MMP3. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where MMP3 is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-MMP3 detection antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the MMP3 concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

Quoted performance characteristics include a sensitivity of <0.061 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Reported recovery values (average, range, n=5) are 91% (80–102%) for serum, 90% (81–100%) for EDTA plasma and 84% (80–89%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (n=5) is given as 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.
