Bovine Leptin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Leptin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Standards and samples are incubated in pre-coated microplate wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Leptin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to the amount of Leptin captured. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration calculated against the standard curve. The assay has a working range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.063 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 h 30 min, and kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

Spike-and-recovery performance has been validated in serum (range 80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (range 81–99%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (range 80–89%, average 84%), each with n=5. Dilution linearity has also been assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across the same three matrices.
