Bovine Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate supplied as 12 x 8 well strips pre-coated with an anti-IL-6 capture antibody, and employs a colourmetric readout with absorbance measured at 450 nm on a microplate reader.

The assay has a product range of 78.1-5000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <31 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. In the workflow, standards and samples are added to the coated wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-IL-6 Antibody and then an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that becomes yellow after addition of the acidic stop solution; the yellow intensity is proportional to the IL-6 concentration captured in each well.

Reported recovery averages are 91% for serum (range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-99%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%), with linearity data given across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for each matrix. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
