Bovine Interleukin 18 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 18 (IL-18). The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well plate format configured as 12 x 8 well strips. An antibody specific for IL-18 is immobilised on the plate to capture analyte from standards and test samples; bound IL-18 is then detected sequentially using a Biotinylated Anti-IL-18 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the HRP reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution, with absorbance proportional to IL-18 concentration. The stated detection range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <6.1 pg/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 4 h 30 min.

Spike-and-recovery performance has been reported across replicates: serum 80–102% (n=5), EDTA plasma 81–100% (n=5) and heparin plasma 80–89% (n=5). Linear dilution behaviour is also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16.
