Bovine Interleukin 15 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay enables the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 15 (IL-15) in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The kit is built around a pre-coated 96-well microplate supplied as 12 x 8 well strips, and uses a colorimetric read-out at 450 nm on a standard microplate reader.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 6.0 pg/ml and a quantitative working range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery validation in serum samples (n=5) gave average values of 80%-102% (mean 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5) of 81%-100% (mean 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5) of 80%-89% (mean 84%). Dilution linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in the same three matrices, with recoveries generally remaining within the 74%-108% span reported across the dataset.

In the procedure, standards and test samples are added to wells pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-15. Captured analyte is bound by a biotinylated anti-IL-15 antibody, then detected with an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow on addition of stop solution, and the absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to the IL-15 concentration in each well. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
