Bovine Interleukin 13 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 13 (IL-13). The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-13. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, allowing IL-13 to bind the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-13 detection antibody is applied, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The concentration of IL-13 is calculated from the absorbance read at 450 nm by reference to a standard curve.

The stated product range is 31.2–2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 13.4 pg/ml, and the assay is completed in 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values for serum (n=5) average 91% (range 80–102%), for EDTA plasma (n=5) 90% (range 81–100%), and for heparin plasma (n=5) 84% (range 80–89%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated in the manual.
