Bovine Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with colourmetric readout on a standard microplate reader measuring absorbance at 450 nm.

The procedure follows the sandwich enzyme immunoassay format. Standards and samples are added to coated wells, captured IL-1RA is detected with a biotinylated anti-IL-1RA antibody, and binding is visualised using an HRP-avidin conjugate with TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution, with absorbance proportional to IL-1RA concentration. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

The manufacturer quotes a working assay range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <13.5 pg/ml. Recovery data (n=5 per matrix) show averages of 91% for serum (range 83–100%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 90–103%) and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89–102%). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Supplied components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and adhesive plate sealers, with storage at +4°C or –20°C as instructed.
