Bovine Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL-1 alpha) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and a biotinylated anti-IL-1 alpha antibody, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit has a quantitative measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <5.8 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported spike-and-recovery averages across undiluted samples (n=5) are 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma, with corresponding ranges of 80%-102%, 81%-100% and 80%-89%.

Dilution linearity has been evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with reported values of 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97% for serum; 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108% for EDTA plasma; and 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91% for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
