Bovine Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 6 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Insulin Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 6 (IGFBP6) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format. An antibody specific for IGFBP6 is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added and any IGFBP6 present is captured. Detection is carried out with a Biotinylated Anti-IGFBP6 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate and stopped with acidic stop solution, producing a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The concentration of IGFBP6 is then calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.94 ng/ml and a working range of 2.5–160 ng/ml, with a total run time of 4 h 30 min. Observed recovery was 80–102% (average 91%) in serum, 81–100% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma, and 80–89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma (n=5 per matrix). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the stated expiration date.
