Bovine Hepatocyte Growth Factor ELISA Kit

Designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), this sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate format with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm. The assay is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

An antibody specific for HGF is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added and any HGF present is captured by the bound antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-HGF antibody is added, followed by HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to HGF concentration, calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay has a sensitivity of <5.4 pg/ml and a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery in serum (n=5) averages 91% across a range of 80-102%; EDTA plasma averages 90% (81-99%) and heparin plasma averages 84% (80-89%). Linearity has been demonstrated in the same sample types across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, Detection Solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Storage conditions are +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and components should not be used past the expiration date.
