Bovine Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone ELISA Kit

This competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated microplate in which GHRH present in samples or standards competes with immobilised antigen for binding to a biotinylated anti-GHRH antibody. Detection uses an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of GHRH is calculated from the standard curve, being inversely proportional to the yellow colour developed.

The standard detection range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <5.9 pg/ml, and the complete procedure takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery has been evaluated in serum (range 80%–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80%–89%, average 84%, n=5). Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions has been demonstrated in serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%), each n=5.
