Bovine Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate (12 x 8 well strips) with an immobilised antibody specific for GFAP. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-GFAP Antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate. The reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution and absorbance is read at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <10.2 pg/ml and the quantitative range is 31.2–2000 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Recovery values in serum (n=5) range 80–102% with an average of 91%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) 81–100% with an average of 90%, and in heparin plasma (n=5) 80–89% with an average of 84%. Dilution linearity is reported across 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples.
